Inspired by the great reception to his humorous readings at annual holiday luncheons hosted by the University of Georgia Department of Geography, James O. Wheeler collected three volumes of his Christmas stories, which he dubbed "real," "odd," and "astonishing" because they are meant to be taken as outrageous fabrications and fairy tale twists on reality. Volume 3 is Astonishing Christmas Stories.

Pictured above: The Arsenault Realty Office where the $50 million check was written to the Department of Real Estate and Finance at the University of Georgia, 2007, 16 years before Mr. Ray Arsenault's death, of which those 16 years were the most fulfilling and many-friendly of his entire life. And like Sam Walton, he had thought that owning a pick-up truck would bring on friends.
<--Pictured beside: Michael Rittenberry, one of an estimated fifty musical savants in the world as of 2007, at his job bagging and toting groceries at the Kroger Shopping Center, in the shadow of the School of Music at the mighty University of Georgia, where--if they knew of him--he would be named the Regents Professor of Musicology. |
